About Us

Bishop Paul C. Alston

Bishop Paul C. Alston, is the Founding Pastor and Establishmentarian of Next Generation Freedom Worship Center headquartered in Hampton, Virginia that was established in 2005. He holds an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity from St. Thomas Christian University in Jacksonville, Florida (2013), a Master’s in Education (2019) from Stayer University, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology/minor in Criminology (2003) from St. Leo University.

He serves as the General Overseer of TIPF; Tidewater International Pastoral Fellowship that provides Covering, Connection, Mentorship, Teaching and Training to the body of Christ on a local, regional, and global platform. With a sizeable and diverse background in Hospice chaplaincy, social work, education, training and non-profit organizational development.

Along with the establishment of Next Generation, Bishop Paul has established several non-profit organizations that include but are not limited to Next Generation Community Outreach Ministries (NGCOM) and the Gene R. Alston Living Memorial Foundation that has helped to shape broad and diverse connections with Senior leaders, Business owners, Entrepreneurs and ministry gifts both locally in the US and abroad.

Bishop Paul has been submitted to the leadership of his Apostolic Father and Mother, Apostle William M. & Pastor Beverly Dawson, since 2016. He served faithfully in the KOPCF, the Kingdom of Priest Covenant Fellowship as the Adjutant to the Apostle, Bishop of Ecclesiastical Protocol & Bereavement and Overseer of the Kenya Global Covenant Partners. In addition, he graciously led the Presbytery, Global Elders and served as the 8th Prayer Watch Governor for their monthly 24-hr Global Prayer Vigils from December 2016 until December 2023 when the Lord directed him to “now” focus solely on the work that he had placed in his heart and hands.

Bishop Paul’s spiritual formation includes tenured seasons of submission and service to, the Late Bishop Reverend Dr. Jimmy L. Smiley, TMBT, Hinesville Ga, Pastor Leon Townes, SBC, Hampton Va, Bishop E.D. Richardson, NBEC, Hampton, Va, the late Apostle Otis Lockett, Evangel Fellowship COGIC, Greensboro, NC, Apostle Steve & Prophetess Balinda Dietz, Resurrection Church, Hickory, NC, Bishop Landon B. Mason, SGBC, Hertford, NC, and Apostle Larry B. Aiken, Memorial International Church in, KCMO.

Bishop Paul is married to his high school sweetheart, Leading Lady Rita, who faithfully serves alongside and assists him in the work of the ministry. They have been happily married for over 30 years, and together they share 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

Leading Lady Rita

Lady Rita was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the Late James W. and Venita Rodgers and later raised by the beloved Late Reverend Keith A. Stampley I and Charlane M. Stampley. Raised in Southern California, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop William L. Dillard.

               Lady Rita moved from Southern California to Alton, Illinois in 1989 to complete for former education and would meet and later marry her “High School Sweetheart”, Paul C. Alston in 1992. Shortly after getting married, she began their life in Hinesville, Georgia with her husband and served in ministry under the leadership of the Late Bishop Jimmie L. Smiley, Founder and Senior Pastor of Trinity Missionary Baptist Temple, Inc. While there, Leading Lady Rita served faithfully in the Woman’s Ministry, Adult Choir, Food Bank Ministry, Summer Lunch Program and anywhere else she could assist.

               Lady Rita has always possessed a strong passion to help those in need, particularly young girls, women and single mothers who found themselves in difficult situations. Lady Rita is the Owner of the former “Rita’s Little Rascals Family Child Care Center” where she provided childcare to Military families and their children, for over 15-years. In 1998, she graduated from Riverside College of Health Careers as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Graduated in 2009 from Thomas Nelson Community College with Honors as a Certified Phlebotomist. Continued her Education and Training and graduated with High Honors in 2017 from MedCerts as a Certified Medical Administrator and a Pharmacy Technician.

               Since 2005, Lady Rita has served alongside her husband as the Co-Founding Pastor of Next Generation Freedom Worship Center. She was Officially Licensed into Ministry in June 2012. Lady Rita has been married to Bishop Paul C. Alston for over 30yrs and from that union share four adult children (Kanetria, Bree, Patrick and Diamond) and five grandchildren.

Church’s Mission

Meeting Needs– is what the church will do as a whole. Meeting the needs of its members and the community spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and financially.

Impacting Lives-by the word of God thru various methods such as teaching, training, developing and releasing the believers to be able to fulfill the plan of God for their lives.

Empowering the NEXT GENERATION -we will empower the NEXT GENERATION through the eight core values upon which this church is founded and established. God First, accountability, integrity, giving, development, leadership, service and outreach.

Belief Statements

1. We believe in the Bible as God’s infallible word to man. (II Tim 3:16, II Peter 2:20)

2. We believe in one God that manifests himself and exists in three persons. God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit (Is. 43:10, Matt 1:23, John 14:26;15:26;16:8)

3. We believe in God’s plan of Redemption through his son Jesus Christ (Is53:1-11, Philp 2:6-11;Titus 2:14)

4. We believe in Water Baptism (Matt 28:19,Rom.6:3-4)

5. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an endowment of power to the believer (Acts 1:8,2:1-6;38-39;19:6)
6. We believe in the fruit of the Spirit on display in the life of the believer daily. (Gal5:22-23)

7. We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts given to the church and the gifts of the Spirit given to the believer as displayed in (I Cor. 12:1-11, Eph1:8-12)

8. We believe in the consistent celebration of the Lord’s Supper, known as Holy Communion. (I Cor.11:23-30)

9. We believe in Church and Civil Government (Acts 6:1-7, Rom 13:1-9,I Tim 2:2)

10. We believe in Divine Healing (Is. 53:5, Ex.15:26, Matt.8:16:17, I Pet. 1:24, James 5:1416)

11. We believe in the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (I Thes. 4:16-18,Titus 2:12-18)

12. We believe in Heaven, Hell and the final judgment. (I Cor.2:9, Rev 7:9-17;8:1-5,21:17,22:1-5, Is. 5:14, Matt. 25:41, Mark 9:43:44, Rev 14:10:11, Rev 20:1-5; 21:8.)

 Regulation of Internal Affairs

It is the intent of the Founder’s to have Apostolic Accountability over the church that our responsible for providing Guidance, Accountability, Leadership, Compassion, Integrity and Authority for the Founder’s, the church and its entities.

With this understanding, the Founders of Next Generation Freedom Worship maintain a covenantal relationship with Bishop Paul’s Apostolic Father, Apostle William M. Dawson, Presiding Prelate of the Kingdom of Priests Covenant Fellowship headquartered in Williamsburg Virginia. However, the Founder’s, the church, its entities, leadership, and members are free to exercise autonomy over their personal affairs, business transactions, financial decisions and governmental structure.

Thus, with this understanding, the Founder’s, the Church, its Leadership and members are free to exercise autonomy over their personal affairs, business transactions, financial decisions and governmental structure.

  • The Founders-Bishop Paul C. Alston and Leading Lady Rita serve as the Founders and the Senior and Co-Pastors of the N.G.F.W.C. Their mission and assignment from God is to feed the flock and provide oversight to the church according to I Peter 5:2-3. In addition, they are to give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word as recorded in Acts 6:4, for the furtherance of the N.G.F.W.C and all entities associated with it. They have the authority and freedom to exercise leadership, administration, autonomy, insight, direction, correction, instruction and rebuke over all the affairs associated with the N.G.F.W.C and all its entities.
 
  • The Pastoral Staff-the Pastoral Staff will be/is selected and appointed solely by the Founders. The primary responsibility of the Pastoral Staff is to carry out the daily administration duties of the N.G.F.W.C church and entities associated with it. And to assist the Founders with the management of its affairs associated thereof. Their individual duties and responsibilities are specified in the church’s Articles of Administration. The Pastoral Staff will consist of but is not limited to:

  • Membership-Next Generation Freedom Worship Center offers and welcomes the opportunity to become a member of the church regardless of gender, race or nationally. Individuals, families, or persons interested in joining N.G.F.W.C will be given the opportunity to become a member at all worship services, (in-person or online) family bible teaching sessions, special events etc. Qualifications for membership are as follows: 
❑ Must be 18 years of age or older.
 Must successfully complete New Member orientation class
❑ Note: The Founders reserve the right to add any additional requirements for membership as the membership grows to accommodate the needs of the church. 
 
Please be advised that in the event where person’s desiring membership are joint domiciled, (the church does not embrace this practice) but will allow the opportunity for membership on an individual basis and recognize the couple collectively when an appropriate marriage union is sanctioned. This does not apply to same sex relationships, LGBTQ, homosexual marriages, or unions. NGFWC is a “welcoming” church but not an “affirming” church of individuals currently engaged in such practices.
